This year unfortunately no bronze, silver or gold awards for our drivers. The initiative of the regular Ridders van de Weg awards has been replaced by a national search for the TVM Award Ridder 2019.

TVM Award Knight 2019

This award is intended for a driver who has made a name for himself in transport safety. For example because he or she has driven damage-free for a long time, but also because of a heroic action on the highway. Candidates can be nominated via www.tvmawards.nl. TVM Award Safe Transport

The TVM Award Safe Transport is intended for an organization or (transport) company that has committed itself to its social responsibility and that has meant something for transport and road safety. Candidates can also be nominated for this.

More transport and road safety

The TVM Awards are an initiative of TVM insurance and its primary objective is to contribute to more transport and road safety. The TVM Awards are supported by van Eijck International Car Rescue, Volvo Trucks Netherlands, Conti Netherlands (Continental), Transport and Logistics Netherlands (TLN), Veilig Verkeer Nederland and Advance Groep.

Van Waveren Transport recently invested in 6 fuel trailers and 2 container chassis at LAG Trailers. According to LAG, the purchase shows an ambitious vision of the future, thanks to a focus on technology and profitability.

LAG delivered the first 4 trailers of a series of 6 fuel trailers. We mainly use the fuel trailers to supply Shell petrol stations. Es van Waveren: “Safety, quality of service and product come first. The importance of our custom-made concept cannot and should not be underestimated. The appliance cabinet is an ergonomic tour de force and completely tailored to our daily work. ”

Renewed technology

The trailers are equipped with new technology that guarantees the safety of the driver, the environment and the product. An absolute technological highlight is the measuring system with ContRamix technology, which avoids contamination of the product. The Bartec SAFE software prevents incorrect deposits thanks to the use of SAFE Tags. The LAG trailer is also equipped with OTA (Over The Air) software updates.

In addition to the fuel trailers, we also invested new container chassis at LAG Trailers. We explicitly opted for the 2019 concept of the LAG container chassis. We are very excited to deploy LAG’s new concept. Thanks to the low weight, we maximize our loading capacity. The new chassis, with all kinds of accessories such as hoses and hose sleeves, weighs only 3150 kg.

Expansion of the current transport fleet

The purchases are not a replacement order but an extension of the current transport fleet. Van Waveren Transport continues to grow. A young fleet creates a positive image. And thanks to the expansion, we can increase the commitment with our customers. The choice for LAG Trailers turned out to be logical. We have a close relationship, partnership and blind faith in LAG products and service.

Fuel and tank container transportation is the main activity of our company. This has expanded greatly in recent years, which is why we have decided to stop our courier services from now on.

How it all started in 1980 with Adri van Waveren in the lead

Adri van Waveren started the courier service in 1980. The first client was her brother-in-law Peter Weijers who took care of the lithography / reprography for many weekly magazines, among others. In order to be able to deliver the material quickly to the next company in the chain, he hired Adri to transport it. The customer base within the graphic world expanded rapidly. Later, Marga, Esther and Annemarie (and other employees) joined in order to further expand these activities.

The customer base and the freight offer slowly changed to other branches, such as official documents for municipalities, but also pallets of printing, general cargo and lubricating oil.

Well-known firm “Muis Bij Voorbeeld” continues from Oct 1, 2018

As of October 1, 2018, Van Waveren will stop providing courier services. Partly due to natural attrition and the multi-deployable drivers who perform other activities within our company, we have also stopped the oil change service and this does not cost any jobs. The transport company “Muis Bij Voorbeeld” from Amsterdam will continue to serve our courier customers. This is a familiar sight for these customers, because this company had been hired for several years when our own people were on the road.

We thank our clients for their confidence in the 38 years of courier services.

On Saturday 9 June the time had come: the final of the NK Safest Chauffeur. Very proud of Martin Kolff, out of 1,500 drivers the No. 2 Safest Driver in the Netherlands!

3 Van Waveren drivers in the semi-finals with the best 100

After 1,500 drivers from different companies started, the semifinal with the best 100 took place on April 21. No fewer than 3 of our drivers competed in this semi-final: Ko Kooij, Dirk-Jan Uitbeijerse and Martin Kolff. They were all allowed to go to the Volvo Trucks factory in Ghent. Our Martin reached a final place …

Martin competes in the final with 10 drivers

In the final there were 10 drivers (9 men and 1 lady) left who were allowed to compete against each other in practice. After an exciting final with various, challenging practical exercises, apart from Johannes Ritsma from Boonstra Transport, Martin Kolff from Van Waveren Transport also turned out to be the strongest!

Initiative of Volvo Trucks and TVM insurance

The event on June 9 started at 10:00 am and was open to the public free of charge. There was also an open day at the Automotive Campus, entirely devoted to road safety and innovation. The NK Safest Chauffeur was an initiative of Volvo Trucks and TVM insurance. The winner received the title “Safest Driver in the Netherlands” and a trip to the Volvo Experience Center in the USA.

Safety to the next level with real professionals in the field

More than 1400 truck drivers have registered for the NK Safest Chauffeur. They show that they are real professionals and are currently competing against each other for the title “Safest Chauffeur in the Netherlands”. The 100 best go to one of Europe’s largest truck factories. The aim is that they improve each other, that they learn from each other and that together they raise safety on Dutch roads to a higher level.

Director Es van Waveren also participated in the promotional campaign

At the beginning of this month, our director Es van Waveren of course also contributed to a promotional video for the “NK Safest Chauffeur in the Netherlands” campaign. At the popular request of both drivers and companies, the registration option was extended by one week.

Shell TapUp asked Van Waveren Transport to test an innovative service for fueling the future.

Van Waveren supplies Shell with specialized drivers for a good test

Shell TapUp is a subsidiary of Shell with a team of twenty people who are focused on working fast, flexibility and convenience for the customer. Van Waveren supplies specialized drivers to properly test this service.

TapUp system explained

Shell TapUp works as follows: the customer orders a full tank in the app. Selects a time and location of the car, and Shell TapUp takes the TapUp Car to the customer. The TapUp Team fills the car. As soon as the car is filled up, the customer will receive a notification in the app stating the total amount of the delivery. Payment is done securely afterwards by direct debit or credit card.

Test now on a small scale in Rotterdam

The service is being tested on a small scale in Rotterdam and will be expanded soon. The districts of Nieuw-Terbregge, Overschie, Park Zestienhoven and Hillegersberg-Zuid will be the first.

Van Waveren Transport has been allowed to drive its last ride with Willem Evers. Truck driver Willem Evers joined the team of truck drivers at Van Waveren on March 1 of 2010.

One of the most loyal and committed truck drivers

Willem Evers was always very committed to his job, a very loyal employee, never sick and never on vacation. Unfortunately, he died at the age of 65 by ending up in a confrontation with hanging youngsters in his residential area in Valkenburg.

Willem was buried on 11 August 2017 and received a dignified farewell with his close family, friends and acquaintances.

Aad Maarleveld, driver of Van Waveren Transport from Amsterdam, is the winner of the Shell FuelSave Partner European Driver Competition 2014.

Fuel consumption reduction

The three-month competition is organised to encourage drivers to reduce their fuel consumption. Working with their managers and using feedback from Shell FuelSave Partner, an advanced fuel management telematics system, their fuel-efficient driving behavior is improved.

More than 1.100 truck drivers from all over Europe

Maarleveld won the match against nine other national champions from all over Europe in the grand final in Berlin. Michael Joichl of defending champion Rewe International Lager und Transportgesellschaft in Austria was close behind him with second place. Carsten Stenbjerg from KD Logistik APS in Denmark took third place. More than 1,100 truck drivers from across the continent entered this year’s competition.

“I am extremely proud to be the winner of the Shell FuelSave Partner European Driver Competition 2014,” said Aad Maarleveld. “The way you drive has a big impact on how much fuel you use, so it’s important to constantly look for new ways to improve your driving style.”

We are proud to present Van Waveren Transport invested in the newest ADR approved tank container chassis. With these chassis, constructed this year of 2013, we create more sustainability with large loading capacity, simple operation and high quality.

Ergonomic with low step

The chassis have 3-axis. They are with a low step, ergonomically attractive for the drivers. Besides this, the extremely efficient construction gives the chassis a light weight, which makes maximum payload possible.

Security systems included

Of course all security systems are build in. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake System (EBS) & Electronic Stability Program (ESP) included. Also hand rail and hoses are available to create more ease and security.

At Van Waveren Transport we have purchased another fifteen new Volvo FH tractors:

-Five Volvo FH 4 × 2 tractors with Euro 6 engine
-Ten Volvo FH 420 EEV Classic 6 × 2 tractors

10 tractors mainly for fuel distribution

In the Netherlands, we provide fuel distribution for Van Waveren Transport. We drive tank containers internationally for various clients. We will mainly use the ten Volvo FH 420 EEV Classic 6 × 2 tractors for fuel distribution in the Netherlands.

Tractors that perfectly match future environmental and safety requirements

The five new Volvo FH 4 × 2 tractors are equipped with a Euro 6 engine and thus meet future environmental requirements. We have had all possible safety options fitted. For example, the five 4 × 2 tractors already have Forward Collission Warning available, which will be mandatory for all trucks from November 2015.

Volvo trucks meet the highest safety requirements

Our company with owner and also director Es van Waveren has been working with Volvo trucks for over 40 years. The fifteen trucks were delivered by Volvo Truck Center Amsterdam. “We specialize in the tank transport of hazardous substances. The trucks in our fleet must therefore meet the highest safety requirements ”, says Es van Waveren.
