Company history

We work with a close-knit team of specialized professionals, covering all disciplines in-house. Along with a fully modern and well-equipped fleet, the company meets all requirements for the safe transport of dangerous goods, among others. Es’s policy remains important — if not even more so today! Our specialization in tank container transport, for example, continues to be at the core of our activities.

In 1985, Van Waveren Transport introduced sea container transport, expanding its range of services. Following the launch of sea container transport, the business grew further into the transport of tank containers, specializing in the loading, transportation, and unloading of ADR products. From 1987 onwards, the three daughters of Es and Adri — Marga, Esther, and Annemarie — joined the company, starting out as couriers.

In 1981, Adri, Es’s wife, set up a courier service for various clients, mainly in the graphic industry. Due to its great success, this courier service later expanded to include distribution with box trucks for general cargo and pallet shipments across multiple sectors.

Transporting goods to and from the ports of Amsterdam and, in winter, delivering oil for Shell Oil Company — this is how Es van Waveren started Van Waveren Transport. A year later, Shell outsourced the transportation of motor fuels as well, leading Van Waveren to specialize in tank transport.
